Well, it seemed ironic -- perhaps even insensitive -- that yesterday's entry was a song and dance about how lucky I was. Others in the world today are not so lucky.
My friends in Mississippi are doing fine. They lost all the trees on their property, but luckily none of them landed on the house in which they were huddled fearing for their safety. Their business will be severely hit, however.
I have a friend in New Orleans who managed to get out of the city, but chances are she will go back to nothing, having lost her house and everything she owns. I believe she also has brothers and sisters and an elderly mom in the city. I have yet to hear how she and her family are doing.
